Please read these Event Entry Terms carefully before completing your registration. By registering for this event, you agree to comply with and be bound by the conditions set forth below.

 

1. Entry Protection Insurance & Refund Policy

 

•Mandatory Selection at Registration: Entry Protection Insurance is strongly recommended and can only be purchased at the time of Registration. It cannot be added retroactively under any circumstances.

•Organiser Refund Restriction: The event organiser will not provide any refunds directly to any competitors.

​

•Insurance Cost: The Entry Protection Insurance costs an additional 8% of the entry fee.

​

•Eligibility for Refunds: To be eligible for any refund, competitors must purchase the Entry Protection Insurance during the online registration process. The insurance offers competitors the ability to receive a full refund if an unexpected event prevents them from participating.

​

•Strict No-Insurance Clause: Unfortunately, competitors who choose not to purchase the insurance will have no other option to receive a refund under any circumstances.

 

2. Transfers & Insurance Information Links

 

•Entry Insurance Information: You can find out more details about the policy coverage through the official Entry Insurance Portal.

•Refund & Transfer Processing: If you need to process a refund (insured competitors only) or transfer your entry to another competitor, please follow the designated Registration Transfer & Refund Link provided on our website.

 

3. Course Contingency Plan (Plan B)

​

•River Level Contingency: If our safety team decides the river levels are too high to cross safely, the event will not be cancelled. Instead, we will switch to our Plan B course: an out-and-back route starting and finishing at the Lake Hāwea Community Centre.

​

•Course Distance Alterations: Under Plan B, the Epic and Classic events will be a few kilometres shorter than their planned distances, but the challenge will remain. The Dingle Dash course will stay unchanged, with staggered start times to keep the events separated at the start line.

​

•No Reserve Day: There is no reserve day for this event. The activation of Plan B ensures the race goes ahead regardless of river conditions.

​

•Announcement Timeline: If Plan B is required, we’ll announce this by 3pm on the Friday before race day.

​

•The Race Director reserves the right to cancel, shorten, or modify the event at any time due to unsafe weather conditions, environmental hazards (such as high river levels or fires), natural disasters, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond the organisers' control. Safety is our absolute priority. In the event of a cancellation due to safety or force majeure, the event will not be rescheduled, and the event organiser will not issue refunds. To protect your entry fee against unexpected event cancellations or personal circumstances, you must purchase Entry Protection Insurance at the time of registration.
