The Contact Epic
Founded in 2008, the Contact Epic is one of New Zealand’s premier mountain bike experiences. Circumnavigating the country’s ninth-largest lake and crossing two private high-country stations, the event takes riders deep into some of the most spectacular and challenging terrain the South Island has to offer.
Today, the event is spearheaded by three-time winner Dougal Allan and his passionate local team of Dan, Libby and Becca. The goal is simple: preserve everything that has always made the Epic unique, tough and special, while continually finding ways to make it even better for generations of riders to come.
